BENTONITE FOR COMBIC FEED
Bentonite clays are effective natural adsorbents and possess catalytic activity in many physiological processes of living organisms. The adsorption properties of bentonite predetermined its widespread use as the basis of mycotoxin adsorbents in animal husbandry and poultry farming.
In montmorillonite, the main mineral of bentonite clays, contains impurities such elements as Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu, etc., which are under. the effects of gastric juice pass into easily digestible compounds. Due to this, bentonite, being added to the feed, is the source of a wide range of trace elements necessary for balanced nutrition of animals and birds.
Numerous studies and practical experiences of recent decades have found that the addition of bentonite to animal and poultry feed, in an amount up to 2% by weight of the feed, has a positive effect on the efficiency of meat, milk and egg production due to several factors, they are:

Numerous studies and practical experiences of recent decades have found that the addition of bentonite to animal and poultry feed, in an amount up to 2% by weight of the feed, has a positive effect on the efficiency of meat, milk and egg production due to several factors, they are:
- The mortality of young animals is reduced when grown;
- Increased daily weight gain of animals and birds;
- The durability of eggshell increases, which improves their safety during transportation;
- Increased daily milk yield and milk fat;
- Milk decreases the content of radioactive nuclides and heavy metals;
- Improved feed conversion rate.
An example of the effectiveness of the addition of bentonite in feed for poultry feeding, see this article.
Another important, but underestimated, factor in the expediency of using bentonite in compound feeds is an increase in the biological safety of food products produced, due to the fact that its additive can reduce the amount of antibiotics used in industrial production of poultry and animal meat.
